The Idols will perform songs made famous by members of the original "Rat Pack," a group of legendary performers that included Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr.

the Idols will only be singing 1 song each tonight. A similar message is now seen on AmericanIdol.com. If they could barely handle 7 performances last week, how could the producers even consider 10 performances tonight?

The other major development of the day is the announcement of the surprise mentor for tonight. Paula Abdul told Star 105.7 FM that singer/actor/comedian Jamie Foxx will be this week’s “surprise mentor!”

Then on Wednesday April 29 season 5 winner, Taylor Hicks, will perform his latest single "Seven Mile Breakdown." Hicks has just recently released a new, independently produced, album called The Distance.

UPDATE: Take a look at these just released Tweets from judge Paula Abdul about the mentor and tonight's show: "Tonight's mentor is Jamie Foxx- by far one of the best mentors the kids have ever had!!!!...I'm watching the rehearsals now...tonight's going to be magical! Can't wait!!!!"
