The theme for the Top 5 this week is "Rat Pack" (Jazz) Standards. The Idols will perform songs made famous by members of the original "Rat Pack," a group of legendary performers that included Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. It was originally reported by AmericanIdol.com and multiple other sources that each contestant would sing 2 songs tonight. However, a FOX insider has now confirmed that... The other major development of the day is the announcement of the surprise mentor for tonight. Paula Abdul told Star 105.7 FM that singer/actor/comedian Jamie Foxx will be this week’s “surprise mentor!” Then on Wednesday April 29 season 5 winner, Taylor Hicks, will perform his latest single "Seven Mile Breakdown." Hicks has just recently released a new, independently produced, album called The Distance.
UPDATE: Take a look at these just released Tweets from judge Paula Abdul about the mentor and tonight's show: "Tonight's mentor is Jamie Foxx- by far one of the best mentors the kids have ever had!!!!...I'm watching the rehearsals now...tonight's going to be magical! Can't wait!!!!" Related Posts
