AINow.Org Exclusive: Our Interview With MTV's Jim Cantiello PDF Print E-mail
Herb Longs / Tuesday, 17 November 2009 19:20

Last week, AI Now's Ashley Surkin had the pleasure of sitting down with the infamous Jim Cantiello from MTV News.

We have all seen this outstanding reporter file epic interviews and reports, but what happens when the table is turned and Jim is interviewed?

We have the interview divided into four awesome pieces below. And, we guarantee that by the end you'll have had a few laughs, re-kindled some precious memories and maybe - just maybe - yelled at your computer screen once or twice. Enjoy!

Part 1: Jim talks about his twitter name, how he got his job at MTV, what draws him to "Idol," his audition experience and his take on the season eight "Idols."

Part 2: Jim talks honestly about his expectations for season nine and his thoughts on the changes coming this year. Plus, hear what Jim calls the worst mistake in "Idol" history.

Part 3: Discussion of season nine changes wraps up and then Jim talks about his favorite and most memorable MTV interviews. And, he addresses how long he things "Idol" can last.

Part 4: Jim ends the interview with discussion on Danny's new single.

Plus, the videos feature all the hilarious chit-chat and banter that Jim is known for. Which contestant did Jim initially call a douche? What judge did he want fired last season? What had him screaming for Kleenex? And, of course, Jim breaks out into song a few times! Our sincerest thanks to Jim, everyone at MTV, and Ashley for the stellar interview.

Be sure to follow @JambaJim & @AINow on twitter for the best "Idol" coverage out there!
