UPDATE: Michael has announced on twitter that his single will be released on iTunes come December 8th. Earlier in the month, in our exclusive interview with season eight "American Idol" finalist Michael Sarver, he told us that he would be making a "huge announcement" regarding his recording career very soon. AI Now has just got confirmation from Michael that he has signed a record deal! We are proud to announce that Michael has been signed to Dream Records/Universal Music Group! A formal announcement will be coming from the label "very soon." The Dream Center is a non-profit organization based in Los Angeles that reaches out to the homeless and needy across the U.S. The organization proudly provides shelter, education, job training and numerous other services to thousands of people. The Dream Center also has its own recording studio and label. The label prides itself in "creating positive, groundbreaking music." The label partners with Universal Christian Music Group and Fontana Distribution. This sounds like an outstanding match for Michael! The label recently launched a band called Press Play that is taking the nation by storm. The label also backs Stephen Petree and a band called I'm OK You're OK. Ironically, the Dream Center also recently announced that they are naming their Youth Outreach Center after Danny Gokey's late wife, Sophia. Michael plans on releasing a country album in the early part of next year featuring original songs. "I will be recording original songs...I have over 900 songs written to date. 912 to be exact..I started writing when I was 14," Michael told us last month. While an exact release date is not known yet, Michael told us earlier in the month that he had already started the recording process. Yesterday Michael was at the Dream Center in Los Angeles, where he performed his new single, "You Are." Hear the new single here. Michael will have to balance working on his album with being on a national tour, because he will be joining "Idol" alums Gina Glocksen, David Hernandez and Alexis Grace on the American Stars In Concert Tour this winter!
