The Dream Center is a non-profit organization based in Los Angeles that reaches out to the homeless and needy across the U.S. The organization recently celebrated it's fifteenth anniversary and Dream Center founder Matthew Barnett, along with "Idol" finalist Danny Gokey, announced that their Youth Outreach Center will be named after Danny's late wife, Sophia. The special media event was hosted by E!'s Jason Kennedy and Suzanne Marques of "Good Day L.A." Danny also performed at the event. The Dream Center in L.A. sits at the heart of what used to be a crime-infested neighborhood. The organization proudly provides shelter, education, job training and numerous other services to thousands of people. The organization feeds roughly 30,000 people per week and houses more than 1,200 people daily, including addicts, teens and gang members. And since it's creation inĀ L.A., the Dream Center's programs have helped to lower the area's homicide rate drop by over seventy-percent! Interestingly, the Dream Center also has its own recording studio and label, and they recently launched their first artist, Press Play. Related Posts
